The previous generations were a zinc yellow color and now have switched to a bright-nickel color on the new generation. There are no issues with the first generation ones so if you already have them there is nothing to worry about.
If you are unfamiliar with the reason behind these braces; with hard launches and wheel hop, many R35 customers have broken the transaxle case at the rear differential location. The differential literally tries to separate from the front half of the case. The result is a destroyed transmission case that you CANNOT buy from Nissan, the only replacement option is a new transmission at over $13,000. This upper and lower brace kit ties the differential area of the housing to the front half of the housing by tying the strong points of each half together.
Both braces are bright-nickel plated for corrosion and rust resistance.
Sold as a pair.
